How would I go about painting the rims for my Jeep?

I currently have silver rims for my Jeep, and i was thinking about painting them black. What should i use to paint them? And would should i put some type of clear coat on top to protect the paint?|||If you are going to keep the vehicle for a while, bypass the painting and get them powdercoated black. They will last forever and will not chip. If you respray them, especially if you do any off-roading, they will chip and scratch with regular paint.|||Goto a auto shop.|||If the rims is painted silver you can sand, prep and repaint with any quality automotive paint. If the rims are chrome you won't be able to paint over that finish.|||3 powdercoated jet black gloss with a 2 clearcoated finish.

guaranteed to look nice.

or go to a basic store and use a couple of cans of krylon.

its up to you

$100 -$150 bucks for all 4 rims -/+

good luck.sinc, jay|||The best way would be to get them powder coated by a professional. You can do it yourself by sanding down the clear coat, priming, then painting with whatever can of spray paint you like. The problem with that is that they will eventually chip and look awful. Get them powder coated.|||Wire brush 'em up, tin o' paint and a brush.|||well if its stock Jeep rims toss them and buy some new/used that is already the look you want, all depends is this offorad use or daily driver? I have a local shop that powder coats different colors depending on the day 1 day is black the other day red and so on, if you find a shop like this you can get in on "bulk pricing" and it can be as cheap as $20-45 a rim
