What is the largest engine that will fit in a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?

I have a '95 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 and im thinking about a swap whats the biggest engine that will fit and line up?|||4wd.com makes conversion kits to put a chevy 350 in your jeep. beware though, because its too much torque for stock axles and transmissions.|||The only limit is your wallet. As stated earlier, yes you can easily get the parts to install a chevrolet 350..but the drive train cannot take it.

Easier,,do the stroker conversion on the 4 liter. On Chassis dyno got 51% more HP and 62% more torque. The rear axle is the weak spot..at least on a Cherokee, but the wrangler is lighter. So long as you do not go crazy with tire size..worth the risk. If you go larger tires..Ford 8.8 conversion.

Beyond this, Viper, Vette and 500 inch caddilac engines have been done..but you REALLY better have good credit.

Good Luck|||well im sorry to tell ya but the only engine that will line up is the 4.0 if you want to put in a larger engine you can BUT you will have to make alot of modifications with brackets, driveshafts etc. My boyfriend has been a mechanic for 20 years and trust me he knows his stuff and this what he told me to let you know. good luck|||believe it or not the wrangler hase a very large engine compartment. I've seen 454 big block chevy's in CJ's and Wranglers. though i wouldn't recomend more that a small block ford 302 / 351w or chevy 350

I sell motor mounts and conversion kits at www.mesa4x4.com|||You can fit there anything as big as a 454.

I'll sugest to use a small block chevy 350, that is 5.7lt or a ford 351 (5.8lt).

Easy to find parts on both of them.

Easy to find donors too.

It could make it easy if you put the whole package, that is engine, transmission and transfercase. If this should be your best scenario the ford transfercase is drivers side, same as your front axle pumpkin. Unless you decide for a 95 or newer chevy package.
