I've heard some concerns that if I don't keep my soft top on my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon oiled or something, it may get too dry and begin cracking. Any truth to this? What is a good way to keep this from happening?|||the soft top on my 1990 jeep lasted 15 years, and the softop on my 1998 jeep made it 10 years without doing anything other than rinsing the heavy dirt off with clean water occasionally. I would just keep it clean, don't use harsh detergents, and don't use armorall or any of that kind of stuff on it. It's very durable and will last a good long time. It can be replaced for about $450 or so, so if you get 10 years out of it, it owes you nothing.
Then again, Helen can spread butter on my soft top any time she wants.|||Bestop makes the soft tops for Jeeps. They also make products to maintain soft tops and soft top windows. You can order on line or locate a local store.
