My Jeep Grand Cherokee has just started having a 6-beep tone everytime I start it. What is it?

It is a 1999 Jeep that for some reason has started sounding two sets of three beeps every time I start it. The sound seems to emanate from around the steering column. Any suggestions on what this might be would be greatly appreciated.|||This is Jeep/chrysler's gift to the dealers, it is supposed to remind you to get scheduled service performed...check the manual to disable.|||Mikey nailed it on the head. Look up at your overhead console, if you have one, and there you are.

|||The seat belt reminder sounds for about six seconds if the seat belt isn't fastened when the ignition is first turned on. Could it be that?|||Time for maintenance warning.
