What year did Jeep Start putting a V8 in their Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I want to buy a Jeep grand cherokee, both for trail riding and everyday use, but I don't want a 6cyl. The body style I want (no plastic bottom effects) I can only find in V6?|||and if you are looking at the older ones, the six cylinder models are inline, not V engines.|||about 20 years ago and you can put just about any kind of motor you want in it had a 350 chevy motor in one had a 400 ford in one had a dodge 318 in one|||The always have - so 1993.
