How can i get my 88 jeep wrangler laredo to sound better?

I want my jeep to sound louder and more throatier/deeper. Weather it be an add on to the existing exhaust or a whole new system, I would like to stay under $500. Also something that will look good on the jeep.

All answers are greatly appreciated.|||Well, to look good simply get a chromed tip for the end of the muffler, since you can't really see the rest unless you crawl under there.

If you want it to sound throatier, I'm hoping you have the six cylinder because a 4-banger has no right sounding throatier. All you have to do to sound throatier is to replace your existing muffler with a Flowmaster 50. I have one on my 4.0L I6, and it adds just a little bit of rumble without being annoyingly loud (I'm assuming an 88 Wrangler would have a 4.2L I6). If you do want louder, get a Flowmaster 40. Flowmaster even makes some diamond plated 40s and 50s that are tough enough to handle a bit of rock bashing when driving offroad.|||Can i just put a new muffler on it and a new tip or do i need to buy new exhaust. How do i know what sized tip i need?
